This Knox Artist Network website is going to vanish

Hi gang,

Since there’s been zero activity here since the post I put up in February, aside from two spammers trying to sell UGG boots, I’ve decided to pull the plug when the domain registration expires, which will be 5/10/2012

I had hoped to build some sort of online community for people to keep tabs on what everyone else is doing, but it appears Facebook is the only game in town, and it’s what everyone is using these days. I made an effort to try to help get artists around here organized and networked, but it’s just not happening, so this site will soon vanish from the web.

Thanks for giving it a try.

Steve

A new website- Artsy Mondays

I’ve launched a new website, Artsy Mondays, and it will feature a brand new piece of original artwork every Monday, available as prints and downloadable desktop wallpaper. Pop in and look around, and I’d appreciate spreading the word, put a link on your website or blog, every little bit will help.  ArtsyMondays.com

Gallery Photographers Wanted!

Hello! My name is Sherry Disney and I own a company called Passages. I am a photographer and a video buff. I love seeing other photographers “eye” views. We have such GREAT talent that a lot of people never see because they do not know it’s there. So I decided to change that…..

I am looking for 10 photographers to join together in a “one of a kind” Gallery. I am looking for local photographers who shoot a “different” type of photography.

The Gallery would of course have displays of your work that you would sell along with studio availability for your use. You would rent your space for $75 a week. This includes your display space in the gallery along with 4 separate studios (3 inside and 1 outside) for your use. You would keep ALL revenues from your sales. Framing and Canvas Art are also available.

We would love to have you on board! Please let me know if you have any questions!

Thank you for your time and interest! You may contact me with your interest, questions, concerns and portfolios at passagesvcd@comcast.net

Please update your profiles

I need you all to do me a big favor. I need everyone to update their profiles, including a user photo, or at least, a piece of your artwork. This site was set up so people can sign up themselves without me intervening, and it’s getting SLAMMED with spam by spambots. So if you’re a person with an account here, add a photo and update your profile, that will help me to weed out the bot accounts.

I’d love to put some of YOUR artwork on the main page, catch the post I put up about that earlier, which is linked in the sidebar.  Just email the properly sized images to me and I’ll put them into rotation here. It’s smart to put your name on the images themselves, so people know who’s work it is.

Thanks-

Steve

A new look

The site looks different now, I’ve updated all the guts to make this place run with the latest versions of everything,  and hopefully this layout will make more sense to you all. Don’t forget- if you want to post something to appear on the front page, like this post you’re reading right now, you all have that capability. You can see how it works here.

Feel free to post news, articles, links, pictures of recent artwork, or anything else that might be of interest to people.
