In case you missed this on first Friday

There was a video shown for the first time at First Friday at the Emporium last night, created by Jennifer Tipton. This is a small part of a work in progress, but it’s powerful.

Registration is open

We’re open!

It appears I’ve got things set up enough for you to go ahead and register and set up your profile and start using the site. I just put a post on the front page detailing how to put something on the front page of the site.

I’ve been testing out all the features here, and I think it’s all good, so if you run into something broken, please let me know.

Thanks, and enjoy!

Here’s how to post something on the front page

Since some of you may be new to WordPress, here’s how it works. You’ll find a  section marked META in the sidebar, with a link marked Site Admin. Click Site Admin, and you’ll be transported to the Dashboard, which is the behind the scenes section of the site.

On the left, you’ll see a link for POSTS. Click it. You’ll then find ADD NEW. Click it. Adding a new post will cause it to appear on the front page of this web site, so use it for news, post photos of works in progress or finished pieces, etc.

If it’s going to be a long post, you can put in a More Tag.  In the upper row of icons, the 4th icon from the right is the More Tag. Place your cursor where you want to cut the article, and hit that button. Then you’ll see the Read More thingie as you see below. Continue reading

Welcome

Since Facebook has been getting out of control with the way they handle your privacy, and the NING network I set up is about to start charging for access, I’ve created a place we can network with each other, control privacy, and it won’t cost you a dime. If you’d like to send a little something my way for the effort and hosting of this web site, I can always use a little cash for ink and paper to support my digital art habit.

I’m not sure what all I can set up here for everyone, so it’s a work in progress, but now there’s a place online for Knoxville artists to get together, network with each other, join groups and add friends, and even be able to send private messages to other users if you’d like.

This is my way of giving back to the art community here in Knoxville, my home for the last 15 years.
Be well-
Steve
